The Paper house project was the first project undertaken in the first year, with the goal of creating a packaging net for a product.
This is the buisness card I design for the second weekly task, card was designed for my dads plastering buisness
The templates designed for the 3rd week of projects These templates will be used for presenting work.
A table shows most of the file formats within the CAD industry, with advantages of the different formats (Click image for PDF)
The first of the five sketches we were tasked with doing, of the University campus, this is the chaple. We had only 15 minates per sketch.
The second of the five sketches, this particular one shows the main campus building.
The third, showing the West Downs Auditorium.
Image four shows the West Downs building and the Greta statue.
For this weekly task we were assigned creating three models for different disciplines, for example, mechanical, architecture, piping, products and packaging. This example is my pin collection product for the game project.
The second project was my game project packaging, presented on my templates and in realistic view, 2D wireframe view and hidden line view.
The third and final 3D model was my basic house model, displayed on my templates and two viewports.
The second to last weekly task was to create two 3D mesh models, of similar catagories to the task before, I opted for funiture and created a table and sofa.
This is the 3D mesh model of a sofa, presented in the templates with different viewports, much like my other models.
Last but not least is the 3D logo we had to create, my logo inspiration is taken from my initials.
semester two
This project marks the beginning of semester 2, where we had to design a mobile gaming console. Exploring different user dimensions suitable for our device.
With the information from the previous sketch, I then proceded to basic sketches and ideas for the mobile device, my group liked the idea of a portable projecter. These tasks where weekly tasks, as well as the group game project.
From the first two sketches, a 2D prototype was made using AutoCAD, with the user dimensions taking into account. A circular device, capable of projecting and handheld was chosen. Overall it was a group decsion as it was part of our group project
The next task was to move our 2D model, into a 3D model. All of the preivious tasks were set as weekly tasks, as well as our group work tasks. Were we had to design the mobile console, market it and make games.
That led to rendering the device, and passing on the renders to the designers in my group, which was used in there marketing projects.
Another render of the buttons on the device.
The final render of the conesole logo, projecter lense and speaker holes.
Finally, that led to me 3D printing a half scale model of the deivce.
The next weekly task was to design and model an everyday object. I chose a stress ball as I could also use it for merchendise in the second group project. We had to 3D model and render our models. The mapping I chose was the logo design of our app "mind". I also had to produce a animation for this model, which is shown below.
The next task given to us was to produce a DWG file with xref, from architects plans. We had to make sure the xrefs were properly put in the file and layed out correctly.
For this task, we had to create a number of dynamic blocks that we could use for our group project. However I had no assets to make, therefore I made furniture blocks, with different elevations.
Here is another elevation of the blocks I designed and made dynamic, meaning they could move, rotate and change appearance.
This was the last task we got for the weekly exerises. We had to make a poster for inexperinced AutoCAD users, with important keyboard short cuts for them to learn.
This marks the second Ergonomic task, where we had to create a exhibition. I chose to create "The Digitial Future of Formula 1". The mindmap shows the path the audience will take when travelling around the area.
We were allocated a space of 12m x 18m, with a ceiling height of 4m. Within the space we had to use technology to interact the auidience, for exmaple one of the attractions will be a VR racing experience.
Lastly, I 3D modeled one of the rooms where the auidience would be, this particular room shows off the formula 1 cars through the years and how they will look in the future, changing to electric cars.
The last weekly task we had was to create a model of a everyday item, that we think we can improve. I chose a toothbrush as I feel like they are very basic and could ergonomicly be improved.
I decided to go for a rectangle shape to make the toothbrush more comfortable and help to protect against fagitue.
The last project I did was produce a diffuser for the group project. Our app was "mind" a app designed for calming and aimed at people with poor mental health.
I also 3D printed the diffuser at half scale, inwhich finding it looked good as a reed diffuser and used it for that. I chose a diffuser through research, finding that people with poor mental health use the device to help.
